Kilt Rock and Mealt Waterfall is located on the A855 at Ellishadder, 15 miles north of Portree and 2 miles south of Staffin. There is a narrow access road to a car park where you need to park considerately. The car park is not marked out and gets very busy in summer so a bit of care is needed.

The famous Kilt Rock is a sea cliff in north east Trotternish. It is said to resemble a kilt, with vertical basalt columns to form the pleats and intruded sills of dolerite forming the pattern. This is a popular stopping point on the road between Portree and Staffin and there is a large car park by the waterfall at NG508655, at Ellishadder.

Kilt Rock is a sea cliff in north east Trotternish Peninsula. Adjoining it are Mealt Falls which fall dramatically 55m from the clifftop into the sea.

Mealt Falls, sometimes known as Kilt Rock Waterfall, is probably Skye's most famous waterfall - and certainly one of the most accessible. The outflow from Loch Mealt plunges 50 metres over basalt cliffs directly onto jagged rocks at sea level, with a concrete platform built right on the rim of the cliff providing an excellent and safe viewpoint.
